The plan for £230m Sky Studios Elstree scheme is approved by Hertsmere Borough Council. The works related to construction will be starting soon. Glenigan which is the construction information specialist said Lendlease, BAM, and VolkerFitzpatrick are the firms participating for the main contract.
Comcast which is known to be owned by Sky is associating in partnership with NBCUniversal. Bothe the organizations will be combining to develop the new film and TV studio. Besides, Legal & General is the financial partner that would play its part in developing the scheme. Local specialist Kane Group will work to clear the site for construction, and will start this month.
900 construction jobs are expected to be fulfilled with this construction site. And the film studio that’s expected to get launched by 2022 will be the most sustainable film and TV production site. The opportunities that will be created are part of design processes that get executed perfectly. The sustainability comes in the form of reduced embodied carbon in construction.
