One of the leading build to rent developers in the North has submitted a planning application for 370 new homes. This is for Wolverhampton’s historic Canalside Quarter. Placefirst which is based out of Salford plans to build this £65m development.
The construction site is close to Wolverhampton’s £150m transport Interchange on land off Lower Horseley Fields in the city centre. J M Architects have designed the project and is the developer’s first scheme in the Midlands.
The construction will witness several heritage canal-side properties restored. The regeneration of this historic canalside location under the proposed development will create a new promenade, landscaping and the restoration of listed buildings, and public open spaces. There will be a new pedestrian access provided to the canal towpath.
