BAM Appoints New Scotland Regional Director

Bam UK & Ireland has appointed Robertson Construction Group executive technical director Mike King as regional director for Scotland.

King will join Bam on 17 September and will lead the contractor’s construction business in Scotland.

He previously worked at Robertson as executive technical director and served on the contractor’s board.

His responsibilities covered Robertson’s eight regional construction businesses, including preconstruction, planning, engineering, design, digital construction, quality and business improvement.

Bam said King has almost 30 years of experience across engineering, project management, operational delivery and senior leadership.

The contractor has delivered several healthcare and education projects across Scotland, including the £72 million Parkhead Health and Social Care Centre in Glasgow.

Other projects include the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Radionuclide Dispensary and Dunfermline Learning Campus.

Bam is also delivering Caledonia High School in Rosyth. Both education projects were designed to meet the Passivhaus standard.

Bam UK & Ireland construction executive director Kim Sides said King brings operational, technical and commercial experience to the role.

King said he was looking forward to joining Bam and working with its Scotland team.
