BAM tops the contract winner’s chart for November 2020

Builders Conference reveals the new construction contract awards in the UK with a total worth of £5.7bn in November 2020. These figures are considered above-average as the house-building sector accounted for 40% of the new work awarded in November.

There were 227 new contracts registered last month alone. A monthly total of £5.7bn for new contract awards is compared with £5.1bn for the same month in 2019, £4.0bn in November 2018 and £4.2bn in November 2017.

BAM has won the most works with contracts during the month. They include four new projects with a combined value of £371m. This allows the firm to take the top of the BCLive contracts league table. £350m indoor arena construction at Manchester is the largest project won.  

Kier takes the second spot on the table with 30 new contract awards to its name. The overall value is estimated to be £361m. The largest projects for Concord London in the month won were the Kier’s £106m Marylebone Square development.

Berkeley Group takes the third position with £312.5m works including a £220m scheme at the former Horlicks Factory in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire. The fourth spot is backed by Be First which is the development arm of Barking & Dagenham Council. Wates won 10 contracts in November 2020 and stood at the fifth place in the table. A total of £257m works for different projects will be carried including a £100m office development in London’s Piccadilly Circus for Land Securities.
