Bovis Secures £200m London Stock Exchange Revamp Contract

The contractor has secured the landmark scheme after beating competition from Structure Tone and Wates, winning the appointment from Oxford Properties and Hines to deliver the refurbishment, extension and full turnkey tenant fit-out of 10 Paternoster Square.

David Cadiot, chief executive of Bovis, said: “Having successfully completed the original building in 2003, it’s a real privilege to return and transform it into what will not only become best-in-class accommodation but also a new tourist destination for the City.”

At the heart of the overhaul is the transformation of the ceremonial core of the London Stock Exchange. For the first time, the daily market opening and closing ceremonies will be visible to the public via a new glass atrium, giving visitors the opportunity to observe and take part in events that have traditionally been held behind closed doors.

The plans also feature new rooftop extensions, an events pavilion, and a network of terraces and balconies offering panoramic views towards St Paul’s Cathedral.

Sustainability is central to the scheme, which is targeting BREEAM Excellent and NABERS 5-star ratings. More than 95% of the existing structural frame and façade will be retained in line with circular economy principles, significantly reducing embodied carbon.

Completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2028.

The wider project team includes architect Carter Gregson Gray, quantity surveyor Gardiner & Theobald, structural engineer WSP and MEP consultant Watkins Payne.
