Canary Wharf Contractors Ltd is planning of axing up to 100 job as workload came down drastically duw to the Coronavirus crisis. An email was sent to staff by the enquirer last week by the contractor’s board outlining the plans. This is the second round of job redundancies in the last year following the loss of 70 jobs since last summer.
The email from enquirer stated that “As you are aware, in August 2019, we issued a Staff Notice to communicate our proposal to terminate the employment of approximately 80 staff up to July 2020 due to some of our construction projects achieving completion. During the period to 31st March 2020, our headcount reduced by 70. Unfortunately, as we continue to achieve completion on projects, there is a significant risk that our future workload cannot support our current staffing levels.”
