City has turned down 33-storey tower due to design issues

Historic England has enquired about the quality of proposal at 70 Gracechurch Street. Historic England has turned down the 33-storey tower at 70 Gracechurch Street in the Square Mile as the design is not good enough and disturb the views of the Tower of London.

The government’s heritage advisor has warned in a letter to the City of London’s senior planning officer Kurt Gagen regarding the KPF’s design which will blight the view of St Paul’s Cathedral and also the nearby Leadenhall Market.
