An investment of £89 million with plans of upgrading with fibre connectivity from CityFibre allows Reading and Gloucester to boost the digital future. This gigabit-capable fibre connectivity with the state-of-the-art infrastructure will be a new innovation.

This upgrade helps in giving residents access to the UK’s fastest broadband services and delivering millions in economic benefits for the town. CityFibre which is the UK’s third national infrastructure platform will soon reveal a Detailed plan with the connectivity.

The plan reveals a network capable of serving Reading’s current and future demands. The network will be in reach of nearly every home and business upon completion in the town and will provide a platform for a new generation of “smart city” applications.

The well-structured plan also states about the delivery of 5G mobile services.Stacey King would be operating as City Manager for CityFibre and spearhead delivery of the Reading project. Alongside, Neil Madle was appointed to deliver the project in Gloucester.

January 2021 would be the start date for both the projects. Instalcom delivers the project in Reading on behalf of CityFibre. The firm will use modern building techniques in order to deploy the network quickly, with Kier delivering the project in Gloucester.
