A contract was won by Henry Brothers Midlands to construct a £19m joint headquarters project that includes Nottinghamshire Police, Fire & Rescue Services. The works related to construction of the new building is expected to begin sooner than later. The new building comprises a training centre, control room, gym, changing rooms, canteen and shared offices.
Currently there is Nottinghamshire Police HeadQuarters (HQ) at Sherwood Lodge. So the plan of a new three-storey facility would be built behind the existing HQ. Galliford Try, Bowmer & Kirkland, Kier and Wates are amongst the list of bidders along with Henry Bros who won the contract.
The new facility is expected to finish by end of this year and form part of a wider joint campus. The planning permission for the joint campus was accepted in December 2019 and work has already been under way for the multi-phase project. The site in the project includes a new access road, additional car parking and improvements to existing facilities.
