Piling starts on UK’s longest railway bridge

HS2 has received planning permission for the Curzon HS2 Street station in Birmingham from Birmingham City Council. The contractors Laing O’Rourke and Murphy have started the utility diversions and site clearance for the construction work to start.

HS2 is working in the direction to create the world’s best environmentally-friendly railway station by placing net zero carbon in the operation. The design by the architects Consultant WSP and Grimshaw confirms that, this is the first intercity terminus station since 19th century in Britian.
