Interserve Construction was given a £5m contract by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, for extension works at Wythenshawe Hospital. Two new theatre suites will be put in by Interserve at Wythenshawe.
Also, an associated ancillary accommodation and a recovery area with six bed bays are included in the project. The facility will have the capacity for future expansion to include a third theatre. The new theatres will be in an extension next to the hospital’s current theatre department.
The theatres will be above the new emergency department extension that was also built by Interserve. A new link corridor in the first floor will connect the extension will to the existing acute medical facility.
Interserve Construction is expecting to start works in April 2021 while the completion date is assumed to be January 2022.
