JRL Lands 608-Home Thames City Phase 2 Deal in London

Phase 2 of the scheme will deliver 608 flats across five mansion-block buildings rising between 12 and 22 storeys, with a contract value understood to exceed £300m.

JRL Group will continue its role on the landmark Thames City development in Vauxhall, having previously completed the N8 and N9 towers.

Those earlier phases — standing at 53 and 37 storeys — were handed over in 2022 and 2023 and are now largely sold and occupied.

JRL said around 80% of the Phase 2 construction value will be delivered through its in-house specialist divisions, including reinforced concrete frame, façades, MEP, bathroom pods and dry-lining.

The group said this self-delivery approach will provide client Excel Winner with a single point of accountability, while enhancing programme control, quality and supply chain coordination.

The award takes JRL’s order book to around £2bn. A company spokesperson said the scheme remains a key project for the business as it continues its involvement in the next phase of the development.

“Excel Winner has clear expectations and a strong commitment to quality, which makes for a great working relationship.

“We know the development well, and between our main contracting capability and our in-house specialist divisions, we’re well placed to deliver this first in class development.”
