Land & Water launch emergency works at Doncaster

Known as the wet engineering firm, Land & Water has started emergency works on the river Don, on behalf of BAM Nuttall and the environment agency. These works at Doncaster will help repair a large slip on an embankment.

A 100-ton crane usage by Land & Water will be witnessed soon along with a 17-ton long reach excavator while the works began in April. This huge equipment will be placed on a pontoon from the adjacent Sheffield and South Yorkshire Canal.

The sheet piling will be accomplished along the toe of the river embankment, using the massive machinery. Land & Water will dig out both the sides of the piling by using the crane while placing rip rap stone to protect the bank and grab to the bench section by section in the failed slope.

Land & Water prides itself on delivering strategic flood and coastal-defence projects throughout the UK. This is to reduce flood levels and provide minimum-impact solutions for the communities within the areas it works.
