The project remains on schedule to go out to tender for the appointment of a main contractor in the second quarter of next year, ahead of a planned Gateway 2 submission toward the end of 2026.
The development will provide 352 new homes on a former sawmill site, with the scheme designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.
A key feature of the proposal is a new riverside park, which will open up public access to the River Frome for the first time in generations, alongside the delivery of a new pedestrian bridge spanning the river.
Jean-Marc Vandevivere, Chief Executive of PLATFORM_ said: “We are thrilled with the planning committee’s decision, which represents a significant milestone for this important city centre regeneration site.
“This project will deliver a new generation of homes, exceptional public realm, and high-quality amenities to Bristol, helping to meet the city’s housing needs while creating a thriving new riverside neighbourhood. We look forward to progressing the next steps in partnership with the council and our advisors as we move toward delivery.”
