Openreach has selected the nine contractors for its next phase of its £12bn ultrafast broadband roll-out across the UK. The country is already accessing a full fibre network which is available to more than 3m homes and businesses.
Contractor in line for big new regional work programmes include: Talent, KN Circet; Morrison Telecom Services, a part of M Group Services; and MJ Quinns. The new list of nine partners will extend broadband to at least a further 2m premises across the UK.
The activities including building, surveying, testing and supporting Openreach to commission the network will be handled under construction tasks by all the nine partners. The Spine survey and build will begin later this year.
On the other hand, the Access build has a schedule for 18 – 24 months to provide fibre connectivity to homes after the building works begin in April 2021.
