Plans designed in large area for Oxfordshire garden village

Grosvenor Britain & Ireland is planning to develop a massive area that includes 2,200 homes, sports facilities, new primary and secondary schools, parks, 57,000 sq m of employment space, and other allotments. This planning application for the Oxfordshire Garden Village is set to the north of Eynsham in West Oxfordshire.

In particular, the new employment park will attract advanced manufacturing businesses. This large site that meets the UK’s housing needs was one of 14 garden villages approved by the Government in 2017.

The new development includes few sustainability commitments such as:

  • Approximately four hectares of new woodland planted to preserve and improve natural habitats and capture carbon
  • Home designs to accomplish energy efficiency and a focus on building fabric that outperforms current Building Regulations
  • Electricity for heating and hot water across the whole site to save up to 80% of carbon emissions compared with gas heating
  • A network of green, segregated routes in the walking and cycling areas that will be linking homes and workplaces.
