Plans Submitted for 30-Storey Tower in Preston

A landmark 96-metre residential tower has been unveiled for Preston, set to become the tallest building of its kind in Lancashire.

The £40m Altura development on Derby Street will transform a ground-level car park into a striking high-rise, delivering 218 modern apartments alongside seven Grade A office suites. Construction is expected to span around 30 months once work begins on site. Reports Contract Journal

Steven Gallagher, managing director at David Cox Architects, said:
“Altura represents three years of careful design development, guided by a dedicated team committed to creating something special for Preston. We are proud to be helping shape the city’s future.

“On completion, Altura will stand as an elegant and contemporary landmark, reflecting Preston’s growing reputation as a vibrant urban centre. We believe it will make a significant and lasting contribution to the city’s skyline and serve as a bold symbol of its progress and ambition.”

The scheme is being brought forward by TSS Property, which is also behind City Walk – a £20m development on another brownfield site in Preston. Featuring 122 apartments, City Walk is scheduled to open later this summer.

Preston City Council has now validated the planning application for Altura, with a decision expected before the end of the year.
