Search of contractor’s starts for £45m Greenwich council housing scheme

The London Borough of Greenwich initiated a call over £45m council homes scheme at Kidbrooke Park Road. The most ambitious scheme from Greenwich plans to build 750 new council homes across the borough.

The search for a modular housing specialist is called by the council, to deliver the scheme on a vacant site to the north of Kidbrooke Station. The plans include building 117 zero-carbon social rent homes across four buildings ranging from four to 10 storeys, play space and a nursery, and associated public realm.

The heating arrangements will be provided by air source heat pumps and solar panels across the roofs of the buildings. The project plans are under way and expected to be granted in the autumn to allow construction starting from March 2021.

It is set to be 19 October for submitting prequalification documents by the firms. Later in November, the shortlisted firms are due to be invited for bidding.
