Vistry Partnerships succeeds £62m East London scheme

Vistry Partnerships is being shortlisted by Newham Council at London to deliver its Plaistow Hub regeneration project. The council’s wholly-owned housing company known as Populo Living is developing the £62m mixed-use residential-led scheme in Plaistow, East London.

112 London Affordable Rent homes in the local area will be delivered using the revenue generated from the project. Plaistow Hub will create a new local centre by Plaistow Underground Station.

The project also includes a new library, supermarket, neighborhood centre, gym and café along with two separate residential buildings. Red Door Ventures was changed to Populo Living in June and acts as central to Newham Council’s Housing Delivery programme.

Populo Living has worked with Mayor Rokhsana Khan and is committed to ensuring 50% of all the homes will meet the standards of London Affordable Rent benchmark as the project gets completed

£1.5bn was invested by Newham Council in Populo’s affordable housing projects. This will lead to 884 affordable homes by March 2021. London Road and Valetta Grove are the two separate sites in which the Plaistow Hub will be constructed.

A 23-storey building comprising 100 new homes for private rent and a three-storey commercial building will be built at the Underground station of the London Road site. 82 new private rental homes over 15 floors will be constructed at Valetta Grove situated at Plaistow Road which is opposite to the Plaistow Station.
