VolkerSmart Technologies has won the full fibre rollout contracts in Swindon and Slough by CityFibre. The work will start from October on the £56m investment in both towns and will continue up to 2023.
VolkerSmart Technologies will process evacuation in 430,000m of new trenches in Swindon and 262,000m in Slough. VolkerSmart will install ducting, before blowing, splicing and finally testing the fibre optic cables providing residents access to the UK’s fastest broadband services. The works includes a combined installation, incorporating both existing overhead infrastructure and new underground trenched duct network.
