The approval for a £70m scheme comprising more than 200 flats in blocks up to 18 storeys high is done for Hove near Brighton. The site located next to Hove Station will witness Developer Watkin Jones’s Hove Gardens scheme at Ellen Street.
A space of 18,000 sq ft for offices and 4,000 sq ft of commercial and community space respectively is the first major development approved in Brighton & Hove. This indeed is calculated since the Green Party regained control of the council in July.
30 years is the minimum timeframe that Watkin Jones plans to build, own and manage the scheme. Consolux which is a London-based firm is the MEP consultant and the scheme consists of Iesis group as the structural engineer.
Demolition of warehousing on the derelict Brownfield site is subject to the signing of an S106 agreement and could start as early as November. April 2023 is the time during which the first residents are expected to be seen.
