The new intermodal rail freight terminal at the Prologis logistics park in Northamptonshire will be laid with a major concrete pour by Winvic Construction. The works will take place starting later this month. Besides, DIRFT III logistic park will be the extension for the big civils scheme near Daventry forms part of Prologis.

Winwic will pour A 79,000 square meters concrete terminal slab is set to be in way under the £29m contract. The firm will install a 9km rail track linking to the existing terminal and the West Coast Mainline. Furthermore, three complex bridges will also be built.

Approximately 30,000 cubic meters concrete terminal slab is designed by the Winvic design team and its consultants. This structure is to withstand the weight of containers loaded with 21 tonnes stacked at four levels. The company will construct a five-track, 800m long siding. Installation of specialist Rail Traverser equipment will also be undertaken by Winvic.
