Barhale will be taking on the infrastructure enabling works for the western extension of South Staffordshire i54 Business Park. The western extension of the 98-hectare Midlands business park will release an extra 100,000 sq m of development land.
The extension site is adjacent to the M54 motorway on the border between Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire. Amey works as the principal contractor and the programme will include the construction of a foul water drainage pumping station and associated M&E works.
The construction works will be carried which is located in a purpose-built 10m deep, 5m diameter shaft sunk into rock. With the combination of open cut and directional drilling techniques, installation of associated sewer and pumping main pipe work will be taking place.
Contract completion is expected in early 2021.
