Appointed by Prologis, the £340m development will serve as a flagship distribution hub within M&S’s food supply chain, supporting the retailer’s ambitious growth strategy.
Delivered over a 52-week programme, Winvic will construct two low-carbon warehouses featuring multi-storey office accommodation, a dedicated security hub, and a vehicle maintenance unit. The scheme also includes extensive infrastructure works adjacent to the M1.
Designed as a fully electric facility, the development is set to become the largest building globally to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating, with an EPC A+ performance target also in place.
Danny Nelson, Managing Director of Industrial, Logistics and Data Centres at Winvic, said: “It’s a special project due to its low carbon in construction credentials and BREEAM Outstanding target and we’re utilising a stage 2 Building Information Model (BIM) to its full potential to assist with this goal.”
