HS2 has awarded the lifts and escalators deal for the four major HS2 stations to German-based TK Elevator, the job is to build and install around nearly 300 lifts and escalators.
The four major HS2 stations are Birmingham Curzon Street, Interchange, Old Oak Common and the new HS2 platforms at London Euston which consists of 160 lifts and 130 escalators.
It is estimated that about 400 people are hired by Elevator across the UK to get this job done. The manufacture and installation includes up to 20 years of maintenance.
