The contractor has emerged successful ahead of Vinci, GMI Construction, Goldbeck Construction and Huber Parking UK to secure the Southern Gateway scheme.
Formal contract signing is anticipated later this month once the standstill period concludes.
The development represents a key enabling phase of the wider Temple Quarter masterplan. It will relocate regulated station parking to the south, unlocking prime land to the north of the station for future residential and commercial development.
Designed by AHR and Arup, the scheme is anchored by a seven-storey, 379-space multi-storey car park. Adjacent to this will be a three-storey cycle pavilion delivering more than 530 secure cycle spaces.
The public realm between the two buildings will incorporate a mix of hard and soft landscaping, sustainable drainage features, dwell areas and flexible spaces designed to accommodate temporary pop-up activities. The works will also introduce a new southern pedestrian walkway and entrance to Temple Meads station.
Highway improvements along Bath Road form part of the package, including a segregated full-width footway and two-way cycleway, a new bus stop with layby, and a signal-controlled junction providing access to the car park. The scheme also includes provision of a Network Rail service yard and the relocation of the RRAP facility.
The project is being procured by Bristol Temple Quarter LLP — a joint venture between Bristol City Council, Homes England and the West of England Combined Authority — with Network Rail serving as a principal delivery partner.
