Crown House Technologies Manufacturing (CHtM) and Explore Manufacturing are both set to expand their production capacity as part of a wider investment in modern construction manufacturing.

CHtM will relocate to a larger manufacturing facility in Smethwick, West Midlands, while Explore Manufacturing will add 3,200 sq m of new production space at its existing Explore Park facility in Nottinghamshire.

The expansion will significantly increase manufacturing capacity while supporting greater adoption of advanced automation, digital technologies and modern production methods.

The upgraded facilities will also provide a platform for continued investment in manufacturing innovation, helping to improve productivity, efficiency and quality across off-site construction operations.

Group CEO Cathal O’Rourke said: “Our business has been built on a simple but powerful idea – that there is a better way of doing things – for our people, our clients, our delivery partners and the planet.

“The certainty and resilience that we have deliberately pursued is showing up in our results creating opportunity for us to invest in the future of our offsite manufacturing capabilities.”

Managing Director of Laing O’Rourke’s Europe Hub Peter Lyons added: “This is an exciting investment in expansion – confirming the confidence Laing O’Rourke has in our industry-leading industrialised construction approach.

“These new facilities will create a better environment for our people and ensure certainty for our clients into the future. This investment by the Group is a testament to the quality of the work our people produce and the trust they have created with our clients.”
