This marks the first collaboration between Barnet and an institutional investor of Aviva’s scale. Aviva Capital Partners is funding the scheme in partnership with developer Stories.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with completion expected by 2028.
Councillor Ross Houston, deputy leader and cabinet member for homes and regeneration, said the agreement highlights how the council can “use council land to directly benefit residents.”
Richard Meier, CEO of Stories, said: “Bunns Lane is more than just a housing scheme – it represents a blueprint for public-private collaboration guided by shared values and long-term goals. We’re proud to partner with Aviva Capital Partners and Barnet Council to raise the bar for equitable development in London.”
