Cappagh lands £136m Portsmouth Water deals

Under the AMP8 spending round, Cappagh has secured contracts to deliver a comprehensive smart meter installation and commissioning programme, alongside key infrastructure works spanning from 2025 to 2030, with the option of a five-year extension. Reports Contract Journal

Both projects are set to commence next month, with Cappagh teams to be co-located at Portsmouth Water’s head office in Havant.

By 2030, the programme will see the installation of over 170,000 smart meters. In parallel, Cappagh will undertake a wide range of infrastructure activities including the renewal of water mains and service pipes, laying of new mains and connections, carrying out network repairs and maintenance, and delivering permanent reinstatement of surfaces.
