Plans for £90m wind turbine quay works at river Tees

A £90m heavy lift quay on the south bank of the River Tees is being planned to build and support the assembly and shipping of wind turbines for the North Sea. The project will support 100 jobs during construction.

Phase one of the project will see 450m of the new quay facility built. The second phase of works will see an additional 600m of quay being developed. After project completion, it will also be crucial access from the River Tees.

It will be connected to the planned 4.5m sq ft of manufacturing, storage and office space development at Teesworks. Work is due to begin late next summer and complete before the end of 2022.
