The Alliance – comprising Newcastle Hospitals, Northumbria Healthcare, Gateshead Health, and North Cumbria Integrated Care – is preparing to launch early market engagement with contractors ahead of a series of significant procurement opportunities. Reports Contract Journal
Over the next four years, the Alliance anticipates a £500m pipeline of transformative NHS projects, building on previous successes such as the Metrocentre Community Diagnostic Centre in Gateshead.
This comprehensive programme will address critical backlog maintenance, support the development of new healthcare facilities, drive digital innovation, and align with the region’s net zero ambitions.
Formal procurement is scheduled to begin in January 2026, with contract delivery running from April 2026 through to March 2041.
In advance of the invitation to tender, a supplier engagement event is set to take place in Newcastle on 11 July.
