GRAHAM has won the first major build-to-rent phase for the Bruntwood–Trafford joint venture, beating Domis, GMI Construction and HG Construction to secure Plot 2A.
The £60m deal strengthens GRAHAM’s position on a wider £175m pipeline, with two further plots still to be procured.
Plot 2A will deliver a 249-home build-to-rent scheme with 200 sq m of ground-floor commercial space, forming a key part of the town centre regeneration. The project includes demolition of part of an ageing 1960s shopping centre to make way for a 10-storey residential block arranged around a landscaped courtyard.
GRAHAM will begin under a pre-construction services agreement (PCSA) to finalise design and agree the contract sum before moving to a full build contract.
A further £115m of work sits behind this phase, including Plot 2B (£45m) and Plot 1 (£70m), with future awards expected to depend on delivery performance.
Construction is set to run for just over three years once the main contract is signed, with completion targeted for 2029.
The wider Stretford Mall masterplan will ultimately deliver around 800 homes alongside new public realm and retail space, marking one of the most significant transformations of the town centre in decades.
