A £53m construction was awarded to JJ Rhatigan with a contract to build Abbey Place. The works will be starting on site this month with a development of 245 flats in Abbey Wood.

The construction in Southeast London is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2023. Architect Shedkm has designed the 13- and 21-storey residential towers that will form a mixed-use development next to the new Abbey Wood Crossrail station, near Woolwich.

72% affordable homes are flexible according to the scheme. It includes three commercial units, a new public square and improvements to the public realm. Bridges Fund Management and Hub have acquired the partnership together from U+I in 2015.

Planning consent was present during that time for a hotel and apartments but Hub commissioned Shedkm to produce a scheme with more housing. Greater London Authority confirmed the approval in 2018 after a resolution was passed in October 2017.
