Plan for offices construction with £100m at Riverside Sunderland

Developer Landid along with Investor Legal & General have unveiled designs for two new office facilities. This plan is set up from the ground at Riverside Sunderland and the project design is done by dn-a architects.

The two new buildings will offer 200,000sq ft of prime city centre office space according to the plan. The new construction site is to the north of City Hall. L&G will invest £100m into building the 112,660sq ft and 94,991sq ft office blocks.

The two new office blocks will rise to six and five floors respectively, if planning is approved. Work will begin on the first of the two buildings in early 2021 and summer 2022 will be the timeframe expected to open for usage.

BREEAM excellent standards are under the target for both buildings. Plans for the development of both buildings will go before Sunderland City Council’s planning committee before the end of the year.

The developments are part of a Sunderland City Council-led vision to deliver more than 1m sq ft of office space across the Riverside Sunderland development, creating workspaces for up to 10,000 people.
