Robertson won the bidding to build a new £150m arena in Cardiff after Cardiff Council had picked a consortium led by international venue operator and promoter Live Nation. This move will help deliver the new 15,000-capacity arena.
A US developer and investor Oak View Group is also part of the bid along with Robertson. The construction plan in the arena has an estimated cost of £150m and is expected to complete in three years. There might be more than 2,000 jobs created during construction, as the council estimates.
Approximately 15 percent of the project’s cost will be covered by Cardiff while the remaining budget will come from the private sector. The development of detailed plans and costs for the project will start soon by the Live Nation consortium.
Besides, the development contract is expected to be signed in the summer. Last year saw Robertson was successful in completing the construction of a £333m exhibition centre last year. This construction was completed in three years in the Aberdeen locality.
