Morgan Sindall, Bowmer & Kirkland and R G Carter have been appointed to the Department for Education’s (DfE) Essex Alliance, which is scheduled to run until the end of 2031.
Morgan Sindall and Bowmer & Kirkland will undertake high-value projects, while R G Carter has been selected to deliver lower-value works.
The appointments are linked to the DfE’s national Construction Framework 2025. Morgan Sindall and Bowmer & Kirkland have secured positions on the high-value South lot, while R G Carter has been appointed to the low-value East of England lot.
The Essex Alliance will operate through a Framework Alliance Contract, known as FAC-1, bringing the DfE and the appointed contractors together to coordinate a programme of construction work.
The approach is designed to strengthen collaboration between contractors, improve supply-chain management and enable lessons learned from individual projects to inform future delivery. Specific school construction projects will be commissioned under separate contracts beneath the overarching alliance agreement.
