Private builder Wates has unveiled its plans to reduce their workforce in large scale due to the coronavirus crisis. Wates is the first national contractor to convey its decision to axe its 300 staff and 200 agency workers.
Earlier Wates had furloughedits one third of the staff and stated that it has to protect protect the business in the hour of falling revenue. As of the workforce is reduced by 8% besides the 200 agecncy workers.
