IM Properties has appointed Winvic Construction Ltd for a 2.94 million sq ft global logistics centre construction contract. This project at Merica Park, Leicestershire will comprise five industrial units which Jaguar Land Rover will take for lease.
Winvic has succeeded to acquire this UK’s largest single occupier logistics park and aims to reach Net Zero in construction. This will allow Mercia Park to meet the sustainability ambitions for future developments.
The carbon standards policy will compliment an extensive social value programme, a skills and training initiative. Winvic’s construction of units 2 and 4 are the largest at 1,00,000 sq ft with 514m x 181m x 18m steel frames.
Besides, units 3 and 5 are each 300,000 sq ft, while Unit 1 is 200,000 sq ft. All the five units will have an office space totalling 107,000 sq ft. Winvic started work at the site in February 2021 and the project is set to be handed over in September 2022.
