Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) said that the cards which are recently expired can be accepted on sites as per the government advice. This is to allow social distancing without approaching renewals and hence to cut-shot the spread of COVID-19.
CITB has asked the site managers to show some leniency on workers with cards that expire from mid-March. Adding to it, the same clemency is applicable for all courses listed in the CITB training directory. And, the expired cards for Site Supervision Safety Training courses and Site Management Safety Training are to be accepted until further notice, it said.
The training board has waived fees for rescheduling or canceling health, safety, and environment (HS&E) tests. It also confirmed that the apprentices left midway through courses will receive training on the phone or via Skype. A letter advising candidates reveals that their apprenticeship officer will be guiding them through government notices.
