An earlier tower scheme at the Argenta House site in Stonebridge Park was launched by Henry Construction Projects but stalled during foundation works after the contractor entered administration in June 2023, leaving the site inactive.
Following this, Clarion Housing Group, through its Latimer development arm and in partnership with Cervidae, secured planning permission for a revised 17,664 sq m development under Argenta House (Stonebridge Park) LLP.
The proposals were reworked into a higher-density, fully affordable housing scheme on the site opposite Stonebridge Park Station.
Clarion has since completed the acquisition of the site, taken full ownership and moved directly into contract, appointing JRL Group as construction partner to bring the project back into delivery.
The approved redesign will deliver 180 affordable homes, comprising 88 for social rent and 92 for shared ownership. The updated plans increase overall housing numbers, introduce more family-sized homes, and provide public realm enhancements alongside improved site connectivity.
Construction is scheduled to restart in March 2026, with completion targeted for early 2030.
Richard Cook, group development officer at Clarion Housing Group, said that taking full ownership of the site would safeguard the long-term affordability of the homes.
JRL Group director Kevin Keegan said the company was pleased to be entrusted with delivering a landmark development in a sustainable and well-connected location.
