The contractor has been appointed to deliver the retained façade redevelopment of Holden House at the junction of Oxford Street and Rathbone Place, creating 135,000 sq ft of new commercial space opposite Tottenham Court Road Elizabeth line station.
The eight-storey development will provide 115,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation alongside 20,000 sq ft of retail space fronting Oxford Street.
The appointment follows Kier’s completion earlier this year of Derwent London’s nearby Network W1 development, further strengthening the contractor’s presence in London’s commercial office construction market.
As part of the redevelopment, Kier will retain and protect the building’s Grade II listed façade. The contractor will use a precast façade system as part of its modern methods of construction approach, incorporating off-site manufacturing to support the delivery of the scheme.
David Rowsell, managing director for Kier Construction London and Thames Valley, said: “This second landmark appointment marks another significant milestone in the growth of our commercial business.”
Superstructure works are scheduled to begin in spring 2027, with the completed development expected to be delivered in 2028.
