McLaren Construction was awarded £100m contract to reclad four towers on the Chalcots Estate by the Camden Council. In January 2019, the recladding deal is secured by Wates but discontinued after the disagreement on final terms with the council 18 months later.
The pre-construction work will be started by McLaren as the technical designs, surveys, and specifications are been completed.
Councillor Meric Apak, Cabinet Member for Better Homes has stated that: “This is a significant step forward and I know that residents will be pleased to see this appointment as they share our determination to see works get underway as soon as possible.
“Our sights are now firmly set on quality and the safe completion and I look forward to a shared resident-focused approach as we move forward with the delivery of this project.”
