New Victoria scheme construction worth £185m works to start

Under the £185m New Victoria scheme, Morgan Sindall urban regeneration division Muse Developments will start the first phase construction works. This scheme in Manchester city centre is being delivered in partnership with Network Rail while Manchester City Council and Homes England will support the project.

The first phase of development will be built with 520 new homes. The buildings include 20 and 25-storeys with 178 one-bed, 286 two-bed and 56 three-bed apartments. The residential development construction project will be accomplished in 450,000 sq ft and expected to complete in 2023. The site adjacent to Manchester Victoria train station will be handled by Vinci as the main contractor.

Following the first phase, a 150,000 sq ft eight-storey office building will be in place under the second phase of construction. This next phase of Victoria scheme will be helpful in widening the project further and bring in more developments in the city of Manchester.
