As main contractors, Premier Modular will work as a main contractor for a £9.8 million project. The construction for Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will allow a 62-bed Priority Assessment Unit at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey.
The project will be supported by strategic delivery partner Claritas Group. This is a fast-track building project and due for completion by summer 2021. The construction will reduce the programme by up to nine months compared to in-situ construction.
Earlier occupation is possible while the speed of offsite manufacturing and fitting out will support the increased demand for emergency care. The project is designed by BDP and delivery architects P+HS.
This two-storey scheme will provide a new Priority Assessment Unit and will be linked to the Emergency Department. It will accommodate 62 patient bays, staff rooms, nurses’ stations, seminar rooms, clean utilities, laundry, and kitchenettes.
The construction will set up a unit that will be fitted with datacomms, medical gases, CCTV, security systems, nurse call systems, and will be fully integrated with the main hospital. The project was procured through the Crown Commercial Service framework.
