Wates Residential was appointed by Housing Association Notting Hill genesis for the regeneration of Graham Park in north London. The contractor is appointed to build the first 209 mixed tenure homes under the next phase of construction.
The site of the old Hendon Aerodrome in Colindale will witness Grahame Park as the replacement which is the London Borough of Barnet’s largest housing estate. Wates plot (Plot A) will provide 60 social rented homes ranging from one to five bedrooms and 149 one- and two-bedroom homes for shared ownership across five new blocks.
Demolition of the current site is under progress and will replace Graham Park. Besides, the construction work is expected to start on site in late autumn 2021. The project is expected to be completed by 2023.
Notting Hill Genesis has already completed Stage A of the £750m scheme. This comprises approximately 700 homes, park improvements, retail units, a library, construction of Barnet & Southgate College, and new offices for Barnet council.
The Stage B works of the Grahame Park project will soon start and form the next part of the wider masterplan for the area. This includes more than 2,000 new homes, community and health facilities, open space, a revitalised Heybourne Park and a new main street.
