The Paradise site in Birmingham will witness the world’s tallest pure octagonal residential building, as the construction starts after the plans submitted by Developer Argent are approved. Glenn Howells Architects, a Birmingham-based firm has designed the Octagon tower.
This new plan comprises 49 storeys and would become a landmark for the city. The plan further reveals a total of 346 built to rent flats. Adding to it are the individual uninterrupted panoramic views of the city available for 8 flats in each floor.
This octagonal tower would initially see the first phase of this mixed-use development, which includes the first two buildings. These are named to be One Chamberlain Square and Two Chamberlain, along with a new public realm across the estate.
One Centenary Way is the next commercial building at Paradise which is a 13 storey 280,000 sq ft office-led building that is under construction. Three Chamberlain Square is currently going through a design competition which is another commercial building.
