The contractor is delivering the Ministry of Defence project under the Defence Estate Optimisation Single Living Accommodation and Technical Infrastructure Programme, which will upgrade living, working and training facilities at Keogh Barracks over the next five years.

Kier has launched market engagement for a range of major construction packages, giving suppliers an opportunity to secure a place on upcoming tender lists ahead of procurement activities commencing later this month.

The largest contract opportunities include a £19.6m groundworks package, a £12.6m lightweight steel frame package, an £8.8m external envelope contract, £7.6m of structural steelwork and £6.4m of roofing works.

Additional work packages cover brickwork, windows and doors, landscaping, security systems, building management systems and specialist mechanical and electrical installations.

The Keogh Barracks redevelopment forms part of the Ministry of Defence’s wider strategy to modernise accommodation and technical infrastructure across the UK defence estate.

Kier emphasised that the notices represent pipeline opportunities only, with package values and procurement timelines remaining subject to change before formal invitations to tender are released.
