Main construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter, following the demolition of the existing 1950s building by Erith Contractors.
WilkinsonEyre has designed the replacement development as two nested forms on the prominent site between New Fetter Lane and St Andrew Street.
The redevelopment will approximately double the existing 10-storey building’s floorspace, delivering 90,000 sq ft of prime office space alongside 2,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail accommodation.
Every office floor will provide access to outdoor space through balconies or terraces. Ground-floor amenities will include cycle parking, showers and changing facilities.
The scheme will also transform the surrounding public realm, including Thavies Inn Courtyard, St Andrew Street and Holborn Circus.
The plans feature a new south-facing public park, alongside additional landscaping and seating areas around the building.
The project is targeting a BREEAM Outstanding rating and a five-star NABERS rating.
