The site is Europe’s largest data centre hub, and owner SEGRO is moving towards construction of its latest powered shell building. The new facility will provide 30,000 sq m of space across three floors of data halls, alongside a roof-level plant deck.

Planning permission for the development is already in place through the Slough Trading Estate Simplified Planning Zone.

The Enquirer understands that Glencar has beaten competition from rivals including Winvic and McLaughlin & Harvey to secure the construction contract.

One rival bidder said: “Nothing has been made official yet but it looks like Glencar has landed this one.”

Glencar declined to comment.
