The Poole-based contractor has secured both phases of the landmark Hawkwood Road regeneration project on behalf of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, marking a major milestone in the area’s wider redevelopment plans.
Phase one of the scheme will deliver a new two-storey community centre, four retail kiosks and a new pedestrian link, alongside extensive landscaping, drainage upgrades and improvements to community spaces.
Phase two will comprise the construction of 68 residential apartments and new commercial space across three buildings, together with a public park, cycle storage, refuse facilities, parking areas and associated highway and landscaping works.
AJC Group, headquartered in Poole, is a specialist affordable housing contractor operating across Dorset and Hampshire. The company is currently delivering several major developments throughout the region, including the regeneration of the former Buzz Bingo site in Bournemouth town centre.
David Cracklen, Director at AJC Group, said: “Developments like this have the potential to make a lasting difference to local communities, and that is exactly what we at AJC Group are striving to achieve through every scheme we deliver.”
Construction is scheduled to begin in July, with the initial phase focusing on site clearance and groundworks to prepare the infrastructure required for the first stage of the Hawkwood Road development.
